Shazam Entertainment, the mobile music recognition company, today announced the appointment of Jerry Roest as Chief Executive Officer. Roest brings with him extensive experience in telecoms services. He was previously on the operating board of NTL UK as Managing Director for Marketing and Development, was Vice President for Europe at Compuserve and before this managing director of The Financial Times Online Services. He joins the company with world-class experience in introducing new technology services to European markets and is joining to oversee the growth of Shazam through and beyond its launch this Summer by focusing on its relationships with operators, investors and international development.

Roest is one of Europe's recognised leaders of Online and Internet development. He brings to Shazam a wealth of sales and operational experience from his previous roles at NTL, The Financial Times and Compuserve, making him a hugely valuable addition to the Shazam team. His previous experience in telephone, TV, Internet and interactive services will help Shazam reinforce and add to their existing wireless music services. Prior to joining Shazam, Roest was Broadband Adviser to the Prime Minister's Strategy Group.
