  • The tracks you know you want when they come out...
    • Jennifer Lopez ft. LL Cool:
All I Have To Give (Epic) LL Cool J pipping the post on more shots than J-Lo's eyeliner in the video. Bootylicious Brox-pop in designer knickers.
    • Artificial Funk: Together  (Skint) Funkin' great belter of a tune from the Skint camp with huuuuge mixes from Roger Sanchez & Seamus Haji. Go buy it. Go now.
    • Missy Elliot ft. Ludacris: Gossip Folks (Elektra) Miss E might have downsized on the clothing but she's still biggin' up the vibes with often lurid Ludacris on this electro-tinged smash.
The tracks you know you want when they come out...
    • Shakedown: At Night (Defected) Terra Deva deserves stardom, and with the remaining popularity of this dance anthem from last year, Terra could reach those stars in 2003.
    • Datsuns: Harmonic Generator (V2) When you get bored of tipping sheep, you go for making rock records. NZ's Datsun's set the standards very high indeed.
    • Tomcraft: Lonliness (Big) A staple in nearly every top international DJ's box, teases our musiccal tastebuds whilst leaving us wanting more this year.

This week's Featured Tag Chart Track
Hot Hot Heat "Bandages" (Sub Pop) - release date: 24 Mar 03
So they may look a bit weird and one of them has a head shaped like a smartie...but hey! Who cares! They're from Canada and they have one of the most outstanding new sounds of the latest rock (or post-rock, to you art students) movements to date. Vocalist Steve Bays, Bassist Duncan Hawthorne, drummer Paul Hawley and their develish bassist Dante DeCaro set out to be British Columbia's ambassadors of music cred in 1999, drawing on their mutual love for the 60's mod music, and 70's prog rock, and punk, and yeah, some 80's stuff too. Although audiences have tried to pin their sound to early XTC or even certain nuancesa of The Cure, Hot Hot Heat have proved themselves to be more than so many of the cookie cutter band's in International charts today. The future looks bright for these Canadian lads, with sell out shows at L.A's infamous Troubadour Club, opening for No Doubt in New York and bringing Sub Pop back into our lives.

Congrats to everyone who took home a Music Week Award last week!!!

Request of the Week: Could the manager of Boo Koo Movement get in touch? we have a message fgor them.
